We promote free legal help seminars.  However, the cost of maintaining this page significantly increased due to new rules for SSL certificates and hosting changes.  We, therefore, have placed a few ads on the page.


Legal Help Seminars at the Library

Seminars are every Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Beale Memorial Library

A panel of local attorneys holds free informational workshops to answer questions asked by those who attend.

Note: The library will be closed most of August and September for carpet replacement.  The Haberfelde Building has generously offered us the use of their Golden Gate conference room.

Free Bankruptcy Seminars – CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

Bankruptcy Seminars sponsored by the Kern County Law Library.

On the second Monday of each month from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm, Attorney Patrick Kavanagh will teach about the bankruptcy procedure and the effects of filing.   Also covered will be other options that may be available rather than filing bankruptcy.

How to Probate a Small Estate – CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

Probate Seminar sponsored by the Kern County Law Library.

On the first Wednesday of each month from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm, Attorney Diane Dodds will teach how to probate an estate of $150,000.00 or less. Information will be provided on the various options available in dealing with a small estate.  Information will be provided on the various options available in dealing with estates that qualify for summary procedures under California probate law.
